Camping: The Misunderstood Vacation (luxury cruise liners)

By Fred Jones

World travel has its benefits. For starters, it allows the traveler to see the world. Well, duh. But it also allows for other things that make it such a big deal; if anything, it’s a common dream of anybody to see certain parts of the globe, to visit a country, to experience new things outside of their own locality. Yes, world travel surly has its benefits. But what about its detractions? What about the colossal hassle to attend airports, to inspect baggage and to make baggage claims, and to, well, put up with the unseen dangers of inhabiting a foreign and unfamiliar country? That, too, is also big deal for some people.

Well, then it must be suggested that those such people can pick from another alternative tow world travel, one that can arguably less costly and, potentially, less timely. This is an activity that, depending on where you live, will not require a person to stray too far from their own locality, at least not so far as a foreign country. What is this local vacation benefit? Why, it is camping!

Of course, there will be those who will say that such an activity is beneath them, that it is only for imitation mountain men or nuclear families or a rowdy band of teenagers. These stereotypes rings true in every sense of the word. But there are still a great many campers who simply wish to get away from their urbane environments, who at the same time do not wish to plan out whole weeks, or months, to a single exotic getaway. This is because camping is not only merely a getaway or vacation, but it is also a hobby. Imagine that, an activity so accessible to many that it can be classified as a hobby; whereas traveling to France is a rare and costly opportunity.

Camping is great for all of those things, and more. It is often cheap, less time consuming, and requires very little foresight into its planning. In fact, most camping trips are accomplished during the weekend, between jobs, school, and life altogether. Best of all, camping, when done correctly until experienced, offers a more intimate and personal getaway than most foreign travel deals. It is most certainly a getaway, yet at the same time one remains almost in their own locality. Best of all, by remaining within an enclosed ecosystem, one will get the impression of isolation and, hopefully, clarity. So much so does this apply that camping as generated itself a sort of community of enthusiasts. These people range from casual enthusiasts to the die hard. By having this closely knit group of people, the idea of camping takes on a greater dimension. Because when one “escapes” into the wilderness, and away from the city, they are at the same time welcomed by another enclave.

So there you have it, a totally minimal, hassle free way to vacate away from the busy streets of the city. It may sound like a harsh weekend, but in the end it can be more relaxing than you really think; and more accessible than the average overseas vacation!
